CGOTS Membership Information
| Dear Colleagues:
First of all, I would like to thank current members for your continuous support and participation in the past. If your are not already a CGOTS member, you are missing out on the several advantages that our members enjoy. Membership does have its privilege and benefits. As a CGOTS active member, you will enjoy the fellowship and intellectual stimulation of your peers. You will have the opportunity to present papers in the APSA panels. These CGOTS panels have served as a significant forum of meaningful dialogues between Taiwan studies specialists in the US and their counterparts in Taiwan. In other words, one primary goal of CGOTS is to help your professional network and professional enrichment. The CGOTS panels also attempt to focus on various themes every year to attract audiences from various fields, such as voting behavior and election, democratic transition, China studies, international security, and others. This is exactly the professional environment we wish to nurture by crossing over the sub-disciplinary boundaries not only to compare notes with others for mutual learning, but also for the integration of our knowledge. Last, but not least, do not forget your membership privilege by sending your painstaking research findings to Emerson Niou (niou@acpub.duke.edu), Duke University, for the consideration for publication in Taiwan Studies Working Paper Series. This is an important avenue for scholarly exchanges for our understanding of rapid changes in Taiwan. If you should have any questions regarding CGOTS, please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to working with you in the coming two years. Sincerely, Wei-chin Lee Conference Group on Taiwan Studies/APSA Department of Politics, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC27109, USA Ph. (336)-758-5455/5449 fax (336)-758-6104
