International Factors Prof. Emile Sahliyeh's, "Jordan's Islamic Movement and the State has been accepted for publication in the journal, Church and State for winter 2005 publication. Prof. Peter Vondoepp's article, “The Problem of Judicial Control in Africa’s Neopatrimonial Democracies: Malawi and Zambia in Comparative View” was accepted for publication at Political Science Quarterly. Jun-deh Wu's "The Presidential Election in Taiwan, March 2004" (co-authored with Alex Tan) was accepted for publication by Electoral Studies. UNT Moot Court Team wins in Texas Tech Tournament. The UNT Moot Court Team won the Moot Court competition held at Texas Tech University in October. The UNT Team, coached by Prof. Kimi King, also won four of the top ten speaker awards, more than any other university. Kinzie Craig received second place overall, Joe Rivera got third and Rebecca Cormier and Graham Rainer tied for fourth and fifth place. The team of Kinzie Craig/Graham Rainer placed first in the tournament, and along with Jennifer Poole/Joe Rivera. were invited to compete in a national tournament in Long Beach California. UNT placed fourth overall in the tournament and all four students received speaker awards. Appearances Prof. Andrew Enterline & Prof. Michael Greig presented, "The Survival of Imposed Polities" at the Peace Science Society Meetings in Houston, Nov. 12-13. Prof. Emile Sahliyeh presented, "Status of Human Rights in the Middle East" at the Middle East and Central Asia conference held at the University of Utah Salt Lake City on September 9-12.
